Hello 

I have  noticed that the sports channel on my sky + box to discovery +

Can I get Discovery + on my box or do I need to change to skyq.

Discovery+ runs as an app which Sky+ can't support,, so yes, you would need Sky Q or Sky Stream to receive it.
