Welcome to the forum @PhilAshton 🙂

Just so you know, we're mainly customers here.

Is your Sky box in the conservatory, or are you connecting to it via a length of coaxial cable?

When the picture goes fuzzy does it stay that way? Or if you put your Sky in standby for a few minutes and come back later, is it OK again?

Hi Mark39, if the box is turned off and put into standby, the signal does return but only for a short period of time. The connection is via coaxial cable.

@PhilAshton there's a previously reported problem of failing RF modulators in ageing Sky+HD boxes. It results in the RF output channel drifting slightly away from the set channel after the box has been turned in for a while. That causes the picture to become distorted and eventually lost and the sound to degenerate into white noise. After the box has been put into standby for a while, it recovers for an increasingly short period.

It sounds like this is what's happening with your Sky box. Unfortunately the only solution is a replacement box.
