Cannot record some sky max programmes

I'm not sure why but some sky max programmes aske me to upgrade to HD in order to record but others have recorded fine. I have tried changing to SD and then pressing record/download and it still says the same thing. Does anyone else have this issue, or know how I can sort it ? Thank you

Are you recording these programs from the TV Guide or are you actually downloading them from Catch up Boxsets, if the later do you have Sky Signature on your package ?

Both. Some are catch up/box sets and some are currently on Tv. For example, it's recording SWAT on sky max but won't record the blacklist also on sky max.
