Box Freeze/Black Screen

Just lately, everytime I pause, rewind or fast forward, the screen goes black or freezes. I have go either onto the planner and click another programme or switch off at the mains and reset the box to continue watching. Any ideas as to why this is happening?

A planner rebuild reboots the box safely as well so fixes a few strange happenings on the box, it's always worth a try

@Annie+UK Do I need to do this even though it only happens watching in real time and not when watching programmes on the planner?
