93 year old client with freesat.

My client who is 93 has a satellite dish and also a sky box. She has been watching Freesat for some time but can no longer receive ITV3+1. Can you tell me what she would have to do to get this channel back?

January 9, 2024 will see ITV cease its SD-quality broadcasts nationwide. Starting from 12.01am, those with SD-only Sky TV and Freesat boxes will lose access to ITV3, ITV4, and ITVBe.

As @Jones_The_Cat indicates, if they only have an SD-capable receiver, that now needs to be replaced with an HD-capable unit for access to all BBC and some ITV satellite broadcasting.  These are most easily obtained second hand online: late model Sky+ HD boxes are about £30 on eBay.  Note that Sky will not replace a box used for Freesat reception: their only offer would be for a subscription product on Sky Q.

The ITV+1 channels including ITV3+1 are still available in SD (they don't transmit in HD). If a reboot isn't solving the problem it may be a dish alignment issue.
