sky remote anomaly

I have posted this  before but as a newbie to sky I find the community system very difficult ot navigate and so I cant find it so hear we go again! We have two brand new remotes from sky for two pucks ordered and delivered together. One puck will control the volume on 2 different LG tvs and the other won't control the volume on either. Neither remote will control the on / off on either TV. So I ordered a new remote from sky but that will not control the volume on either TV or the on off. During the original setting up the remote for each tv there is a very brief period when both remotes worked giving full control to the sky remotes over the LG tvs but this was shortlived and that feature dissappeared when trying to reconfigure the remotes for some other reason. This problem points to problems with either the remote hardware or software and not either of ny TVs as the SKY cutomer support chap keeps insisting. I have 6 more days to decided to keep with SKY but their service has been demonstrated as disrespectful to my intelligence and not having a clue how to fix the problem meaning that we would have to continually juggle two remotes to enjoy sky !!!

Re: sky remote anomaly

@Johnherbert

Just a thought - are both your LG TV's identical models? How far apart are both they and the pucks when you tried to set up the remotes?

Only one remote can be connected via Bluetooth to each puck so I wonder if your remotes are somehow trying to connect to the other 'wrong' puck and getting an unsuccessful connection.

I would try setting up the first puck again but with the second puck completely switched off at the mains. Once you have paired the remote to the puck and have it controlling the volume on the TV try a long press (around 3 seconds) of the standby button on the remote. This should turn the TV off. If it doesn't, try an alternative model of LG TV on the remote setup screen on the puck. Keep trying until you find one that works. Don't necessarily rely on using the model number of the TV. Multiple models can use multiple remote profiles.

Once you have the first puck and TV functioning, turn both off at the mains (don't worry, it'll remember the settings) and turn on the second TV and puck and repeat the process.

Good luck!
