Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreIt depends on a couple of factors
What are you trying to fastforward, is it on own for be on-demand apps I.e ITV X or are you using the watch from start feature on a "live" channel? Also do you have the ad-skipping add-on?
you generally use the right and left side of the second bigger circle on your Sky stream remote for rewind and fast forward. The speeds depend on what service is being used. For example one click on the Channel 4 app skips 10 seconds, but on ITv X there are only three speeds available so to get through ads you are best to press the button 3 times to get the fastest speed.

Glass and Puck remotes are the same😉

Here is one specific example:
If I would like to watch a half hour live programme on ITV1 I select the programme about 6 minutes after it was due to start. I then select the watch from start feature. (Occasionally ITV have an issue with this and the watch from start pop-up can be missing).
When the programme reaches the ad break use the voice control and say "Forward 4 minutes".
ITV 1 add breaks are almost always 4 minutes. This will take you immediately to part 2.
You can adjust the timings dependant on the length of the programme that you are trying to watch and the number of ad-breaks that it is likely to contain.
You can also use this feature on other terrestrial channels which contain ads and you quickly get used to the usual length of the break. If for any reason you over-shoot the break use voice control to "Back 20 seconds" etc..

None of this works when watching a program "from the start". There are no controls, just the timer and underneath are a back arrow and another "watch from start" button.
No way to go forward, backward or pause.

You need to use either the remote (either the left or right side of the circle surrounding the select button on your Sky Streaming remote) or voice control (Fast forward X minutes) to fast foward

Not on itvx.
As I explained, it is not possible. Sorry if I wasn't clear. It's on itvx. Rubbish app. We are forced to use the apps to "watch from start" as sky chooses not to use it's servers to cache live TV for us. Sky p**bleep** that responsibility to the apps and thus we receive totally inconsistent form, function and have to watch adverts even if we pay sky not to.
There is no standardisation. Sky just allow bbc, it, C4 and c5 to port their android apps to sky stream.
It's crap.

Nothing happens, as I have described I have no control icons and the navigation controls on the remote do not work when in itvx "watch from start".
I can't ffwd anything so adverts are the same!

Sorry for the thread creep, the original thread was obviously from a noob who didn't want to Google the basic sky stream controls. My problem is more nuanced and pertains to itvx. I've finished watching the rugby and all the frigging adverts now so no need to try to help!
