Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreSince having Sky Stream for just over a week, I have been using youtube a few or more times every day on both my pucks.
Not had any problems at all with it.
That is launching it from the Stream boxes with voice, clicking on youtube within the app rail, choosing a link of youtube content from the Sport rail and casting from my iPad to the Stream device.
When in the Youtube app, go to settinsg and clear your watch and search history. That frees up your cache a bit also. Its often presented as a cure when youtube stutters on Smart TVs and devices (like Roku, Sky Q and Stream).

Thinking that might be the issue. I have been youtubing a lot of epiphone semi hollow guitars over the past few days so the history might be a bit full. I've just cleared everything and will check later 👍

I think it needs to be pointed out that you cannot cast to Sky Stream. I assume you mean that you are casting from your iPad to the tv that your Stream is connected to?

Of course in the sense of casting a screen and the like.
It is using the youtube cast icon on the iPad and targetting the stream app.
My TV on bedroom puck is not a smart TV, so having the stream yotube app is my easy available cast option for this and many apps.
Also doing that from an Android phone or iPad is what I do with youtube in the first iinstance for a device with a youtube app, as it passes over your login credentials easily onto the device (whether it be a TV, Roku, Sky Q, Stream), saves you a little bit of setup having to login with your credentials through the device app.
