Wifi change at set up

I got my sky stream box yesterday and have been having issues setting it up. They said to unplug the router but i don't have access to this as i'm in uni halls. Does anyone know how I could change to the other wifi network while the screen is showing software update needed and nothing else happening.

Thanks

It's important to be aware that pucks are intended for use in private dwellings on domestic broadband, not a managed network which will undoubtedly have restrictions on it.

Also note that if this isn't the address where the Stream service was delivered by Sky then you're already breaking the T&Cs and Sky won't support its use: unfortunately it's not intended to be portable hardware.

I'm afraid that's probably inappropriate advice: they couldn't possibly know what's permitted on any particular managed network, how it's being administered or which services are monitored, throttled or blocked.

Realistically it probably shouldn't be possible to subscribe to Sky Stream from such a location as there are just too many variables which are out of the users control and which Sky cannot help with.

If you can find a sympathetic Uni IT support person (and such hardware is allowed) then they are likely to be in a much better position to help than anyone in this forum.
