Sky Stream is entirely server based - the puck needs a constant fast and stable connection to Sky's servers, otherwise it can easily glitch. NOW is an app based service whereby the app itself is stored locally on your smart TV or streaming device. Such devices have a small amount of in built memory in order to cache the date received from the streaming server. This prevents the glitches you get with a Sky Stream puck which has no built in memory and no caching capability.

Different system of delivery. I think you will find that Now Tv use a much larger buffering system. Meaning that the delay is greater for live transmissions. I stand to be corrected
