Voice activation on remote does not work

When i press the microphone button on my remote it pairs with the box/tv and the coloured bar is visible on the tv, but there is no respose to my command. It eventually goes red and comes up with a message telling me to leave my finger on the button longer.

I have restated both the puck box and the remote, replaced the batteries in the remote and i still have the problem. Please help !

When you say restarted your remote, what do you mean?

 

Try holding buttons 7 & 9 together for 3 seconds.

Then holding buttons 1 & 3 together for 3 seconds.

 

Failing that if the issue is still there you might need a new remote.

 

I'd always recommend replacing the batteries in your remotes with rechargable batteries, not using the ones that come with the remote. 

 

I had these ones with the remote leak and damage the remote (duracel too), I've also read of numerous other similar cases.

 

wonder if Sky just bought up a load of old soon to be trashed batteries from Duracel on the cheap?

Thanks for the replies.

I dont think it has anything to do with the wi-fi as we get the coloured bar appear on the tv when we press the mic button.

I re-installed the remote again, and it has started working. I think youre right re the batteries, and am going to replace now its working, and set a 6 month reminder i think ! 🙂
