Voice Search Getting Worse?

I like a few of you will know that voice search from time to time tends to glitch out and requires a device restart through settings. This normally resolves the issue however it has become where the box needs restarting every 24/48hrs as the voice search glitches out and no longer works without a restart. Anyone else finding this happen more frequently?

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and thank you, @lettice  for tagging us.

 

I can understand how frustrating this can be, and apologise for this. A few questions...

  • When did people first see this start to happen?
  • I know we're in the stream board, however has this happened to anyone who has Glass?
  • Does it produce any on-screen messages, or simply ignore the request?

In the meantime, I've passed the details to our support teams to investigate further.

 

I'm going to mark this post as the current answer, so that everyone has the most up-to-date information.

@BarmySpartan   It is too early to say but for the first my voice control stopped working yesterday and I did a restart via the Settings menu and like you it sorted it out.  I will be interested to see how it lasts.

I have also had this issue and another glitch that Sky need to sort.

I had it as well. Its highly frustrating having to keep restarting the pucks for it to work correctly. I think I've only ever had to restart my Apple TV once over the last few years to sort out a glitch.

Yes I noticed my Voice did this a few days ago.

It was, I noticed on both pucks at the same time oddly, so may have been a backend issue.

A settings restart cured it. 
Been ok since.

Had this again this morning.

It seems at the moment to stop working every few days.

A settings restart cures it, but nevertheless a tad annoying.

Voice control repeatedly not working

I have had my sky about two weeks

the voice control stops working. I do the 1&3 re-pair

it works

next day it stops again

sometimes the 1&3 doesn't work and I have to switch the whole thing off at mains to reset

I shouldn't need to re-pair the remotes EVERY DAY.

ive also tried the 7&9, then the 1&3 and it doesn't make a difference, it still only works for a day

For me on both pucks at the same time

 

  • When did people first see this start to happen? Mid last week, I use voice regularly so would have noticed.
  •  
  • Does it produce any on-screen messages, or simply ignore the request? On pressing the voice button, it brings up the on screen message 'Hello, what would you like to do?' And then just ignores the request
