Update struggles

Hi all,

Having a right mare updating the recently installed streaming puck.
Had to do it via the 'hold power button' route. 
Now I'm trying to follow the steps but the PIN thing is frustrating, to put it politely.
Tried all the suggested options of phone number, bank account and such. Nothing works. Have updated online, left it alone for a bit as suggested. Even that isn't working.
Trying to reset it now and on the 'choose your new PIN' screen. There is no option to confirm your new choice.
Completely stuck now. 

Was hoping the update might solve some of the sound and picture issues, starting to think this puck is a lemon. 

Anyone got any idea what to do from here?

@Chiccada Is this a new Sky stream puck you're setting up for the first time? If so the PIN number should be the last 4 digits of your telephone number.

  This isn't a new installation.

I do have an update though. After leaving the puck overnight, it's now working with the original PIN as expected. Sound still drops intermittently, which is disappointing (for info: Puck set to DD plus, LG C5 tv set to passthrough, eArc via Apple TV into Homepods, 2.1 hdmi cables throughout. Anecdotally, I did have a Philips Hue 4k sync box hooked up, but it would seem that was the cause of my screen blink problems).

Bit baffled that an update procedure puts you back under the pretence of being a new setup. Even more so that the software was released with showstopper bugs such as the issues mentioned in my original post.

So to surmise, if you have to absolutely update your puck via the nuclear option, because for some reason, you can't do so via the settings menu. Do it, then go have a nice sleep then finish setup in the morning. Seems like the "chat" between puck and Sky's servers takes a while.
