Re: UHD channel/s drop sound
@dpro do you have the audio output on the puck set to pass through?
If you have, change it to DD+.... DD+ contains all the relevant codecs for Atmos etc...
Don't worry about losing lossless Atmos as literally no streaming service offers lossless Atmos...

Re: UHD channel/s drop sound
Unfortunately if you set it to DD+ I think you lose Atmos in the Netflix app. You certainly do in my set up.

Re: UHD channel/s drop sound
@Astongooner you do but that's Netflix decision to only support pass-through for Atmos...
The solution for that is to use the native Netflix app on the TV.
Netflix run the heaviest compression of all the streaming services so there's very little difference between their 5.1 and Atmos other than the loss of two channels but most decent soundbars and audio systems are capable of using the extra channels and upscaling.

@Nigelb1972 agreed but just thought it fair to point it wasn't a perfect solution.

Re: UHD channel/s drop sound
@Nigelb1972 and you certainly don't have to try hard with the sky stream puck

@Astongooner we've had no issues with either of ours...

Re: UHD channel/s drop sound
@Nigelb1972 @All four of mine throw a wobbly every now and again although the three connected to the TV direct are better the one going through the AV amp which tends to be the most problematic so tend to use the Apple TV more on that and despite everything I am a fan of the puck nothing gives the live TV experience like them and have got a Manhattan aero and netgem pleio to try to recreate it but I can't.

FYI all streaming services (commercial ones at least) only provide lossy Dolby Atmos. If you want lossless Atmos you will need Dolby TrueHD which you will ony get on UHD Bluray discs.

My very expensive subscription leaves me quite frustrated when I'm watching a channel on uhd and the sound drops about every 10 minutes... The advice seems to be watch it on a standard channel not uhd but often what I'm trying to watch is uniquely on a uhd channel. I know there's frustration from other users about this so why isn't it being fixed? Thanks, anyone.
I normally have my puck set to UHD picture (2160) and audio set to Auto. I often find the picture dropping of its own accord down to 1080 , which I usually notice when switching to one of the streaming apps and the UHD picture option/icons are not shown (eg in Netflix and BBC iPlayer). Going to the puck's video settings, I see its reverted to 1080. Switching it back to 2160 I will see the UHD options/icons in the apps restored.
More recently have been getting siimilar issues with audio, when it just drops, although only appears to be on the live TV content.
