The TV Remote Control
I have just switched from Virgin to Sky. The installation was a nightmare (Sky / OpenReach / Local Engineer) all telling me to make sure I’m home but none of them talking to each other, no survey done, no plan agreed, tip up here and haven’t go the kit – by the bye that’s water under the bridge.
Now for my (next) moan (hoping Sky development team are reading this).
We are now up and running and going through steep learning curve with the remote control which is a NIGHTMARE!! I have got remote controls for several TV’s and all of them have some labelling / some words denoting what button does what – the Sky remote has NONE. And ALL other remote controls have more buttons (giving more different function options/choices). Whoever has developed this Sky remote clearly has gone overboard to make it as small as possible with as few buttons as possible – I understand that (I don’t like it but can understand some teenage developer might think it is a bright idea) . . . .but why for example is there not a white line round the big black circle and inner circle and up down and side arrows. Simple things like that would make it an easier learning curve. I know and accept that every new device is a learning curve but this is just TOO hard, my wife has given up and wants it out of the door. What do I do?

Each to their own ..... I personally think it's a great remote - a vast improvement over the sky q remotes. It's all pretty straightforward and you get used to it pretty quickly. The backlight feature is probably the best upgrade on the previous remotes
which buttons did you want help with ?
43inch Gen 1 and 55 inch Gen 2 Sky Glass & sky live camera 3 Pucks. Virgin media M500 on hub 5x. Four sky mobile sims.

Re: The TV Remote Control
As above, not had any issues with the Sky Stream remote.
Its responsive, easy to use, good layout and also love the backlit keys.
Have a read all about the remote and it's functions here;
Sky Stream with two pucks (former Sky Q and Sky+ customer).
Sky Ultrafast + using Sky SR203 hub. Sky Mobile unlimited data. Sky Protect smart tech kit tester.

Re: The TV Remote Control
Never having Virgin TV, so not sure what their remotes are like.
Having always had Sky TvV since it's beginnning, maybe I am used to their remotes.
Moving from Sky Q to Sky Stream was an easy switch with the remote, with similar function.
For example having a playlist button rather than recording took a one touch move, as it was obvious to me what to do.
Like many streaming device remotes, simplicity tends to be the order of the day now, rather than a remote full of buttons.
One thing I loved with Sky Q is try to use Voice as much as you can, it saves using the remote to navigate as much.
Sky Stream with voice works so much better than Sky Q.

Re: The TV Remote Control
I am sorry you are both struggling with the new remote, as has already been said it is each to his own. It's not much help but all I can say both my wife and I have had no problem at all with it, and I am in my mid 70's so no teenager (I wish). I endorse the comment regarding using the voice button which is the easiest way of using it, however we like the simplicity of it.
I am old enough to remember remotes of old that had so many buttons most people only knew what about half a dozen of them did.
