Sy Stream - not what was promised.

I used to have Virgin but since moving to a flat I have to have Sky Stream. I signed a two year contract at one of those booths in the high street and was told it was no different to Virgin and I would be able to series link and record up to eight shows simultaneously. This was not true, there are no recording options with Stream.

I find locating programs and keeping track of what I am watching difficult. With Virgin it was easy, I had a list of series linked content where new programs were automatically added.

Could Sky do the same? Not recording anything but a list of programs with links to the relevant app with the next episode ready to watch.

Playlist is not the same, it doesn't resume where you left it and shows the newest episode by default.

Just a suggestion and I'm sure it won't happen but maybe if you've had Virgin you will appreciate what i mean.

@richardiain

I've no idea to what degree those particular design concepts are protected, but it's perhaps worth remembering there are actually laws against companies 'borrowing' ideas from each other, and armies of lawyers on retainer ; )

@richardiain while Stream cannot record locally it can and does create cloud recordings for programmes that are not being added to apps. This is mainly useful for sports broadcasts. There are exceptions but in practice it is pretty reliable for content on Sky's channels. Add the events you want from the TV guide to a dedicated playlist. I find the continue watching rail the easiest way to pick up series where I left off.

Every system is different and it takes a while to find all of the various waya to find exactly what you want. Voice search is very powerful and one useful feature which is easily missed is scrolling left from the home tile which gives you access to apps or channels you watched recently. Depending on the broadcaster that can drop you back exactly where you were.
