Still not convinced about my audio setup I have sky stream attached to my Denon amp in the same way my Sky Q was. When the Q box was connected I got a mix of two channel, Dolby 5.1 and Atmos sound mixes depending upon the content being played.
With the stream set to auto in the sound settings I only seem to get 2 channel or Atmos.
I watched where the Crawdads sing in UHDHDR yesterday but sound was 2 Channel a lot of the series on sky that played in 5.1 on the Q seem to be two channel on stream.
can anyone confirm this is the same for them or do they get 5.1 audio on tv series they would expect when set to auto in settings.

Try setting the audio output to Passthrough. I've just done a test on the live channel streams and The Ipcress File on BBC2 right now is outputting 5.1 audio. The Six Nations on ITV1 is outputting 2.1.
SEAL Team from the on demand section streams in 5.1 too.

@SlenderRobert @Thanks for the reply it does seem to work although just started to watch Picard on prime and audio is now 5.1 as it should be it plays for a few seconds then comes up with HDMI issue

Netflix however seems to work fine so maybe an app issue rather than cable issue

Using Sky Stream puck in conjunction with a Denon X3500H AVR (5.1.2) and a Sony 4K TV, with the puck set to pass through in the sound options.
Atmos content comes through as Atmos, 5.1/7.1/2.0 material as a DD+ bitstream.
Atmos, 5.1 etc works fine with Sky TV/Cinema content, ditto Netflix, Prime, Disney+ and Apple TV+. Only frustration is all Paramount+ 5.1 content comes through as 2.0 content via the puck; the Paramount+ app on my Apple TV 4K gives 5.1 correctly.

Yes same for me now thanks for your response. Only had stream for a couple of weeks but with some tweaks from advice on here pretty happy with it. 4 pucks replaced 4 Apple TV boxes and hopefully sky will continue to develop it.

I wish more standard channels and Iplayer etc were 5.1 instead of stereo. Bit disappointed nothing is changing regarding this.

Most standard channels run on tight budgets🤔
