Sly Stream - unable to stop pause

On either of my 2 pucks I pause a live programme - initially SkySport F1 UHD.  When I unpause the stream pauses again and won't restart properly.  If I manage to go back to "Watch from Start" the same issue occurs when I need to stop the fast forward to get to the correct time.

 

Had 3 calls with Sky.  First was someone who, even though I asked, was clearly NOT in the Stream support group.  Waste of my time.  Second was a specialist and we worked through the issues (including the puck not activating my account!) and I left the call with the pause working,  10 minutes later the same issue and my third call.  This person was probably NOT in the Stream specialist group, but I worked through the suggestions.  However, she decided that after 2 years of my network setup being OK, my latency (of between 3ms and 35ms) was too high and I needed to move myTV/router etc closer.  Sure...

 

After doing a complete network reset the stream started pausing correctly, but here we are again with the same issue.

 

I have 450mb FTTH with over 250Mb at the puck per the Netflix test.  Speedtest from my iPhone gives me 9ms latency in the same location.

 

Any ideas of how to solve this one?

Many people now have  same issue  assume related to attempts to solve the UHD feeds stuttering . Totally missed  Q3 for  the sprint as I paused it 🤦🏻. Typical Sky solve one issue create another total lack if testing .

Sorry to hear that - last week I missed the whole race!  I wasn't aware of the Playlist making the cloud recording available, so since the race didn't appear in the EPG I gave up and watched the 7 minute highlights!

 

I'm actually happy/sad that I'm not the only one with this issue though

Unable to resume live TV after pausing

Hi all, I've noticed the last couple of weeks that when I pause live TV, I can never resume it. So for instance I've just been watching the F1 Sprint race and I had to pause for about 5 minutes. Now when I try to resume the program plays for a split second and then pauses again. I'm unable to rewind or fast forward for the same reason, and the exact same happens if I select to watch from the start. So my only option is to go back to live and have missed a chunk of live action. Is this a known issue, and is there a solution for it? Stream is already a massive downgrade from Q, and this makes it even less usable, so I'd love a solution if possible. Thanks.

Sky stream won’t play after a brief pause

If I am watching live tv or a program on catch up and pause it for a few seconds (less than a minute) when I press play the play symbol briefly appears on the screen but the program remains paused. Ditto if I click to skip adverts.

The only way around this is to come out of the program and go back in (if catch up) or change the channel if live tv which means I've missed part of the program.

I've tried unplugging the puck and restarting but it hasn't helped.

Any ideas please?

I am also experiencing this, really annoying! It's one technical issue after another with Sky, they couldn't care less.

@PeterPuck I would hope the superusers feed this back to Sky as trying to complain to them is a waste of time . Been waiting 6 weeks for them to reply to a query .

I can't face calling sky again. Took me over a month and a formal complaint about a different issue  before anyone would listen to me properly.

I admire you for having the patience to try phoning Sky. I've had the same problems for weeks. Suffered again today with quali on Sky F1 UHD. Nearly two decades with Sky all told, the last 3 being with Sky Stream, and the single constant over the years has been poor Sky hardware. 
I can't ring up and listen to someone who has no clue telling me that the problem is my gigabit broadband with mesh throughout the house is the problem. I just haven't got it in me. If only F1 was available in another way in the UK... Sorry Sky, if any Sky employee is reading this, but so many of your customers just despair over the poor tech.

I just did a reset on one of my pucks and currently it's working ok again - wondering if a overnight update had not worked properly - currently  on build QS040.011.00P / UI 3.235.0
