Slow and stuttering app play
Xumo play and other apps on Sky stream seems slow and stuttering play to me.
Other catch up apps I can watch via my smart TV or an Amazon fire stick so I can live with that, but xumo play is only available via sky products.
Is there any way to raise issues with the Xumo play app so they can be resolved?
I was living in hope that it might be available on other devices in the UK at some point and I noticed yesterday with the addition of three extra channels, it might not just be a stop gap app, and Comcast might be actively looking into the UK FAST market and try and play a bit of catch up with Pluto TV and Tubi.

Re: Slow and stuttering app play
Xumo Play is super slow for me. I think it's just a badly written app.
When they announced Xumo Play in July they did say
Later this year, the new FAST channels will be available on Sky Q and integrated into the TV guide on Sky Glass and Sky Stream for seamless discovery alongside Sky Ultimate TV’s lineup of over 150 channels.
This hasn't happened yet, but hopefully once that work is done the Xumo Play app isn't necessary anymore. Although I wonder if they're describing just the six channels described in that press release rather than all of the Xumo library.

Re: Slow and stuttering app play
I hope they update the app to correct the issues.
I noticed yesterday they have done deals to acquire the pbs history and science, and BBC antique road trip channels, and as the Xumo play app is standalone in the USA for example, I think and hope it's here to stay and they will expand it further.

Re: Slow and stuttering app play
I often use Xumo Play app.
Do not really find any difficulties using it.
Takes about 15 seconds to start up on my Sky Stream pucks.
I then always hit the back key to get away from the upfront fast channels and scroll down the film or tv series categories.
At least three or four times a week play a sci-fi, horror or a westerns with it.
Find it easy to navigate through the menus, without issue. But like I said, I already avoid the fast channels.
Find the ff/rew moves through quickly, no thumbnails mind and the restart and movie info works instantly.
Do find it odd, you have to go to discover to revisit or see your continue watching rail.

Re: Slow and stuttering app play
Have you tried any remedials to resolve your apps issues on your Sky Stream pucks.
Would suggest first trying a restart of your Sky Stream box
Go to Settings>Systems Management>Resets & Updates
Select Restart device
Your Sky Stream puck will perform a reboot. It will take a few minutes to complete.
Also, worth trying an apps refresh;
- Press Home on your Sky remote, then select Settings
- Press System management then Resets and updates and finally Refresh apps.
- You'll see a message that says, 'Your apps are being refreshed'.
- Press Dismiss to return to normal viewing.
The apps refresh can take 24 hours to complete fully.

Re: Slow and stuttering app play
Hi @RobertS83,
Thanks for sharing, I can definitely pass this on. To help understand a little more, what part of the app is slow and stuttering? Is it when you're navigating through the UI, or is it content related or something else? As much detail would be appreciated 🙂

Re: Slow and stuttering app play
@Chloe-W22 it is when navigating that it can be slow to go between the menus and different areas of the apps, and when watching the FAST channels that there are slight pauses when you watch the channels to begin with.
It is the same on both my main sky stream and my puck, and I have restarted my puck recently, with no improvement.
Many thanks
