Skystream playlist not recording

Since I purchased skystream all recordings from my playlist record fine except ones from an international channel. The channel name is Utsav plus. They either record and just vanish or simply don't record. Anyone else had any problems with anything similar? I've tried removing and adding, resetting the box etc.

@Skyuser55  Sky Stream pucks don't record, items are added to aplaylist, if the channel in question doers not have an on demand section then I'm afraid adding things to a playlist won't keep them there as there is no content after the live showing.

 

Have you checked if the channel in question has an ondemen section, I'm not aware of them having one myself.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

No, they have no on demand section but programmes on the channel do record.

 

I have one programme that i have no issues with and records regularly. However, other programmes record for a few days and then just remove and stop recording for a few days. Usually after a week or so they start recording again.

Perhaps they have streaming rights for some programmes and not others?

How are you adding the shows to your playlist, via a voice search for the programme or directly via the TV Guide?

I add them directly from the TV guide, the same as I do with ITV and BBC, which seem to work fine. Also the 1 programme that records regularly on Utsav.

 

Strangely though, the 3 shows which weren't recording previously have now started recording. I done nothing different to which I usually do, hopefully they stay in the playlist and record, fingers crossed!

I found same problem - just suddendly stopped - phoned sky and they say may have lost licence to record on stream  - so asked why still recording avaialble on sky Q - says 2 diff set up -  

say may come back for recording but if no happy go back to sky Q and may have to pay extra

this is simply not right - but may have to change

Recording doesn't really exist on Sky Stream, there is no hard drive so everything from the playlist is shown via an on-demand or catch-up service.

 

therefore if a show gets remove from an on-demand platform then yes the show would no longer be able to be viewed, until it reappears on another service. Shows on things like C4 or ItV X app are always there for a limited time only, based on the length they have bought the rights for.

 

worth noting Disney and paramount + have both started to pull shows from their own apps, in order to reduce costs.

Since the day I posted on here the channel had issues with, I no longer have the issue. I don't think it was a licence issue as I was told the same when I called Sky. I think mine was an issue with Sky and it was fixed by them as every single show I now record on Utsav Plus records perfectly fine.

I am have the same problem. I added the international channel (utsav plus) on sky stream, but it doesn't appear on play list or anywhere else.

This is so frustrating…

I asked sky customer service to solve the problem but they said they can not do anything with international chanlel. It's the channel broadcaster issues..

Main reason I got Sky TV to watch catch up programmes.. This is breath of contract from SKY TV.

Incorrect it's not a breach of the Sky contract at all.

 

Sly do not claim that all shows will be available on-demand. Unfortunately if a broadcaster doesn't have its own catchup service, and Sky legally don't have the rights to take a cloud recording of the show, there is little Sky can do.

 

The only way for mature you can record the shows you want would be to have Sky Q and not the Sky streaming platform.

Sorry to say, but I do not agree with you.
I did not see any small print mentioning about some channels will have broadcast issues on catch up programs.
so it's a clear BREACH OF CONTACT by SKY

@NRC Welcome to the forum. If you feel strongly enough (which you appear to do with your use of capital letters) then phone Sky to discuss the matter as there is nothing anyone can do on the forum.

Sky are providing the contracted service, which is access to the channels that you have subscribed to. You can watch the channel via their linear broadcast channel on the platform. The service is defined by the access to the channels in the pack you have subscribed to, not access to individual shows or programmes, therefore if the channel doesn't make some avaiable programmes available on-demand that is not a breach of the TV service that you have signed up to.

 

As previoulsy mentioned, if you want the ability to be able to record any show broadbast on a linear channel you need to switch over to the Sky Q platform rather than the Sky Streaming platform.
