@Denise20241 yes you can switch from Sky + to Sky Stream

1 can I have multi room with the sky steam

yes you can but you need a stream box for each TV you want to wa\tch on and you need to subscribe to the Whole Home subsciption which is a monthly payment to watch on other stram boxes

2 will the fee with sky cover the current Netflix fee I am paying separately

you will only get the basic netflix with adds with Sky Stream but can upgrade by paying addition fees to change to a better netflix package

3 how is easy is this to do ?

Should be easy give Sky a call

I went through this exact process back in November.

It was really quick and easy over the phone when i spoke with the Sky Stream team. I received my Stream puck the following day and had it all up and running within 36 hours of my initial phone call to Sky

In addition to all the good advice above make sure you check which channels are available on Stream especially if you are a religious type.

As well as all the other advice, the absolutely crucial thing to remember is that you need fast and stable broadband for Sky Stream to function at all, particularly if you will be running more than one puck at the same time.

If you don't have a solid 35Mbps download speed as an absolute bare minimum then you will struggle to maintain a stable connection which makes watching TV a very frustrating experience.

Indeed the broadband speed is crucial, but it's not just the speed you are capable of getting to your hub/router, the strength and stability of your WiFi network will be important if you want to connect the puck via WiFi rather than Ethernet. If you get say 500 Mbps going to your router certainly doesn't mean you will necessarily get anywhere near that speed to devices when it's carried via a WiFi network.

Re: Sky + to sky stream

You do not need 35 Mbps for HD.

My connection is only 31 Mbps and I have never had any issues in the last 15 months.

What you need is around 8 Mbps of bandwidth so do consider what other users in your home are doing.

I can successfully stream on my main TV (ethernet connection) along with two laptops on Sky Go and another streaming service my smartphone, never had any buffering on any of those 4 devices when all in use simultaneously.

The "other streaming service" advises it that ping should be less than 120ms and jitter below 20ms so the quality of the connection is vital too, therefore if possible use ethernet.

But you may well need it for running multiple pucks in HD at the same time, as the original question mentioned multiroom.
