That's a statement. Do you have a question?

Re: Sky stream

Picture keeps jumping when watching live sport on bbc and itv. Have it hard wired with an Ethernet cable, WiFi is 1gb speed and is toggled off in settings. Restarted the puck at half time in the game and it doesn't do it 2nd half then the next day same problem happens again.  Clearly a problem Skys end but they just recommend getting a cat8 cable instead of my cat6 one.

The puck only requires a cat5e cable or above if you wish and yhe cat5e is what Sky supplies with the puck.

A cat 6 cable is often what many use now as they tend to be the default cable offered for purchase rather than a cat 5e.

There is no need at all to upgrade to a cat7 or cat 8 cable for use with a puck, it would make no real use of it at all.

Even though you mention your on a 1gb broadband. Can you run the Netflix test below, to make sure you are not getting some kind of issue on speed. See below.

Launch Netflix on your pucks (you do not need to be logged into it, if you do not use netflix) and scroll down the left menu to Get help.
Choose Check Network.
Would suggest running the test several times, say over a half hour period or at your busiest household internet usage time.
What is your speed?

For some further help offerings to consider.

Does your ethernet cable run straight to your router or via an unmanaged switch?

Good to hear you have turned off the wifi option is settings. Can you try this. Toggle on and off the wifi  settings and immediately do a Sky Stream puck settings restart, For some, it's found this sets the wifi mode off correctly. Not doing so, it can revert next restart. Do not do a power reset for the above settings change, make sure it's a settings restart, the settings restart does do some extra slight cache and checkpoints.

Re: Sky stream

Ethernet cable runs from router to the back of sky stream puck. Speed test on Netflix showed 89mbps.
