Sky stream skipping

I cant figure out how to jump forward in a programme without watching multiple sets of ads.

Is there a way to skip through a program without repeatedly triggering the next set of adverts?

When sky forgets where in the programme and you want to fast forward, it usually takes watching multiple sets of adverts to find the right place. This is annoying on a TV show but a nightmare for things like F1 or football.

You used to be able to jump to on previous versions of sky which saves so much time if you know roughly where you left off.

The way the ads work is a nightmare and feels like the system is left in a poor condition to encourage the purchase of ad skipping. Which I won't do because it feels like I'm being forced to by greed.

I miss the user friendliness of Sky Q.

Hi @SB-2705

You can say skip forwad x minutes or go to X minutes in the program using voice commands.

Re: Sky stream skipping

Thanks. Didn't know about that so that helps with the specific time skip question.

However it still doesnt skip though a block of ads. So to jump to the 50th minute I still have to watch the ads at the start, the ads on 20 mins and the ads on 40 mins. Am I missing something?

I've written this as ive done it so means Im watching about 12 mins of adverts if I need to get towards the end of a programme to finish it.

Re: Sky stream skipping

"Watch from beginning" to get back to the start triggers another set of adverts! Even though I've already watched the beginning set.

Feels excessive at this point.

Hi @SB-2705

I can't advise as I have ad skipping and doesn't therefore occur.

Re: Sky stream skipping

Check your My Sky app. You'll probably find an ad skip offer of £0 for 4 months (Black Friday offer). On the subject of ad skip being chargeable, remember with Q HD is a chargeable extra, on Stream HD is standard, balances out the cost a bit does it not?
