I have been using my Pioneer AV amp with my Sky Q box and LG OLED TV for about 5 years now with no problems. The Sky remote swtiches the Sky Q on and that in turn switches the Pioneer AV amp on and then the LG tv, perfect! All this is done by the HDMI protocol that is implicit with all HDMI equiped kit.
I now have swapped to a Sky Stream package with a puck.
Same Pioneer AV amp and LG TV but the Stream puck via the remote will not turn the amp or TV on!
What is wrong?
I suspect the puck as it crashes when Netfilx is selected, but that doesn't explain why the Sky remote does not do what the HDMI protocol says it should do and the Sky Q box and remote did perfectly for years!
The settings on the puck have been told what TV I have and what Sky charmingly call speakers i.e. the Pioneer AV amp I have. The sound volume is controlled by the Sky remote but that's it, nothing else!
Sky can't issue equipment that doesn't do what it is supposed to, so why doesn't it work?
As I said the puck crashes when selecting Netflix as the last watched programme, so something is amiss here as well.
It wouldn't update the software when fired up initially, heaven knows if eventually did, how I check?
Last but not least \i want to give the puck its own IP address as I could with the Sky Q box, how is this done as it doesn't seem to have a 'manual' ,i.e. static IP setting?
