Sky stream low volume

Hi.

I used to have sky Q for several years and the sound was great. Either through my TV or connected to my Dennon Amp.

I left Sky for a year and came back recently. since having Sky stream with the little box and the sound is a lot quieter than the SkyQ Box. It's terrible.

if I am using my tv for an app or a chrome stick it's all ok. Yet through Sky stream it's such a low volume. Sorry for repeating myself.

has anybody else had this problem?

all other tech is fine inc ps5 etc.

Curious - what model is your Denon AVR? And what are your Sky Stream's audio settings under Settings > Picture & Sound > Sound?

Used my Denon X3500H AVR with a Stream puck and now with a 65" Sky Glass gen 2 without issue.

Lounge: Sky Glass gen 2 65” volcanic grey, Denon X3500H AVR. M&K K Series 5.1.2 speakers, PS5 Pro, Apple TV 4K, Sony X800 M2 4K player.
Bedroom: Sky Glass gen 1 43” dusky pink, Apple TV 4K.

@daftjonny I would check your puck sound settings as per @CoffeeDrinker   Auto should be all you need if connected to the AVR through HDMI.

I don't have any issue with a Sony 7.1 Amp/Receiver.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Re: Sky stream low volume

Hi,

I have a Dennon  X2800H. The settings are on Auto.

I have the same setting through my TV with the sound bar.

Should I have it it on Dolby digital plus?

Thanks

Jon

Your Denon AVR is more than capable of handling everything the Sky Stream's might put out sound wise. Leaving your puck on Auto should output Dolby Digital Plus by default, which also carries any Atmos encoded content.

If the sound from the puck is noticeably quieter than other sources, it might be worth checking if the Audessey & Dynamic Range compression settings on your Denon are the same for the Puck HDMI input as they are for all of your other sources. You Denon will alllow different Audessey and Dynamic Range compresses  settings for each HDMI input. If Audessey & DRC are off for your Puck but on for other sources, it would explain why your puck sounds quieter (and why you might need to crank the volume dial for your puck).

Feel free to post any settings from either your Puck or your Denon AVR if you want to run them by us.
