Sky stream....do people like it?

Yes I like it, and yes some customers do, others don't

Did you have a specific issue with stream you want ehlp with?

Aside from the couple of major platform outages there have been over the past couple of years, i've not had any major problems with the platform and am a fan of it.

Yes, there may be some annoying quirks of the platform that you have to get used to, or the ocassional irritating minor bug which may take a while for Sky, or the third party owner, to fix but overall i much prefer it to Sky's satellite platform.

For me, it was more my viewing habits. The only thing i really watch live on linear TV was sport or the news, all my other content i was happily consuming on streaming services, so there wasn't really a need for me to record for linear TV channels, particularly as the volume of "new" content being broadcast on a lot of these channels has plummeted over the past several years, with content premiering first on the streaming apps.

Yes I love Sky Stream! There are quirks and bugs to squash but all-in-all I'm very happy with it and I've not found anything else as good for content aggregation. It's nice for everything to just all be together and not having to hunt around different apps for stuff.

Yes i love it. I have had it since it first came out. I still have my 55inch sky glass gen 1 tv and the puck that I got with it and last year  I  got a 55inch sky glass gen 2

After 10+ years of excellent satellite service via Sky+ HD and then Sky Q we switched to Sky Stream and ended up hating it. 
We gave it a year but it just wasn't anywhere near as reliable as Sky Q. 
We ended up getting rid of Sky completely as we just didn't think it was worth it any more. We now stream all our TV via Freely and apps on various smart TVs and streaming devices. It's been much cheaper and more reliable for our household.

@Maxine10 Love it here, been on board since Jan 2022. Currently watching via a 65" Sky Glass gen 2 and a 43" Sky Glass gen 1 (did have a puck before replacing it with the 65" in the lounge).. Just resubscribed for another 2 years on Sky Ultimate & Sky Cinema.

We could have access to everything we subscribe to (Sky TV & Cinema, Disney+, Paramount+, Netflix, Apple TV & HBO Max) at a slightly cheaper cost via our Apple TV 4K boxes. However my wife loves the Sky Glass/Stream content centric interface and genuinely could not tell you what service Silo, Rivals or House of the Dragon might be on. That she can find it all, playlist it and stay up to date and watch it all via the Continue Watching rail and banner ads when new shows/new seasons of existing shows arrive is brilliant - I used to be constantly fielding questions as to what app she needed to be in for a given show. The Glass TV in the lounge has also cut out knowing which order to switch the Sky Stream puck, AV receiver and TV on so all of the devices talk to each other properly. Now she just needs one remote and she's good. 

For all that & my own film buff & Star Trek habit, we're happy to pay the slight premium over managing seperate subscriptions & seperate apps. Not doing sport I appreciate others have a different experience when reliably time shifting/playlisting sports events both from Sky and third party apps/services. For us though, we love it.

I sadly personally don't find it as reliable as Sky Q and find it very limited in regards to recording when in comparison to Sky Q

Ive had Sky Stream since April and I really like it, first thing to point out though which im sure youve probably already been told, is taht you do need to ahve a good stable interent connection for it to work as it only uses the internet to stream all live TV, you would certainly not want to use it with a jittery connection or poor speed. Im certainly very pleased taht Sky Stream exists as I cant ahve a sattelite dish where I am living and years ago I haerd Sky were developing a product that would work over the internet so to hear this finally happened upon Full Fibre broadband being installed in my area is a dream come true.

You cant record on Sky Stream, but the question to ask yourself is do you really need to ? I look back at shows that I would have recorded years ago when I had Sky + in my hosue share and I now realsie that actually all those shows are ones that I now watch either on catch up or on demand on Sky, I understand taht people like to be able to record but realistically this isnt going to be necessary anymore and it would be pointless for people to have Sky boxes with hard drives when in actual fact most of the content doesnt need to be recorded. 

The EPG works just the same way as Sky Q more or less and is fast and generally reliable, Sky stream will be the way forawd as sattelite dishes are being phased out.
