Sky stream causing tv to turn off and on

My smart tv is connected to my sky stream puck with an hdmi. It's been ok until today. When Sky is connected, it turns on and off every 2 seconds. When the smart tv is running without Sky, it's ok. I've changed the hdmi input, changed the hdmi cable. To make things confusing, I have another puck in a different room. I swapped them and the 'faulty' one is ok in the other tv and the replacement one then turns the tv on and off. I've done a reset on the tv without success. Ai suggests an hdmi-CEC blocker because of an aggressive handshake to disable CEC. Thoughts please.

Re: Sky stream causing tv to turn off and on

I've found the problem. I have the puck connected to 2 TVs via a 1 to 2 hdmi cable splitter which has its own power supply. I turned the power off and back on again (classic) and it cured the issue. Thanks for all suggestions.

Re: Sky stream causing tv to turn off and on

@Steveb14   It is not a problem I have come across but I do know the puck can be very temperamental and the majority of problems like these tend to relate to the placement of the puck.  Obviously your upstairs Stream is working well so it may be the way your puck up there is positioned is good.  Downstairs where is your puck positioned?

Make sure it is standing alone without anything touching it and has at least 6 inches of space around it, and as far away from other electrical items as possible.  Ideally on a wooden shelf and not glass.  Eitherway just experiment with various positions even if temporarily to see if it sorts it.

Re: Sky stream causing tv to turn off and on

It's nothing to do with puck placement.

If your secondary TV is playing nicely with both pucks then it will be an issue with your main TV.

Suggest turning off CEC control in the puck and TV menus.
