Sky stream a disaster
Turn it on watch live tv, fine
select Netflix get black screen restart puck to access this process has to be repeated every day.
bbc iPlayer app freezes on login screen have to unplug device for it to work
watch a programme on itv player channel 4 or channel 5 great till the adverts come on gets to end of ads and screen goes black, programme doesn't continue.
have to back out click continue watch the ads all over again 50% of the time it will continue and 50% of the time it will make you watch the ads again and then black screen again it's just becoming pointless.

Re: Sky stream a disaster
What broadband speed is your puck receiving? To check, open the Netflix app on the puck, navigate to the get help menu top left, and run a network check. Sky Stream relies entirely on you supplying it with a fast, stable and constant broadband connection to Sky's servers. Without this you'll get a poor service.
SkyOS is different to most other streaming services in that it is almost entirely server-based. There's very little happening on the puck itself - all the apps are stored on the server, so there's a tad more latency than on most other devices.
You need to get in the habit of fully rebooting the puck regularly to clear caches and re-engage the server connection. Some see this as extra faff, others see it as perfectly normal, but it's the only way to really improve the Sky Stream experience, on top of having a rock solid broadband network of course.

Re: Sky stream a disaster
This sounds like you need to push through an app refresh.
But first, put your puck in standby.
Then, do a power restart of your broadband router, leaving the router of power for at least half hour.
Leaving it off for that amount of time, will for most ISPs do a WAN ip address refresh that helps to sort certain app connection glitches.
After you power back your broadband router, go to settings in the puck and perform an apps refresh;
- Press Home on your Sky remote, then select Settings
- Press System management then Resets and updates and finally Refresh apps.
- You'll see a message that says, 'Your apps are being refreshed'.
- Press Dismiss to return to normal viewing.
The apps refresh can take up to 24 hours to complete across all the apps.

You only need to do an app refresh once over a lengthy period of time, say a month or so, if seeing some app glitches.
As mentioned an app refresh does take up to 24 hours to complete.
If you have done an app refresh and waited on its time to refresh plus re powered your router as mentioned and it's still not solving your app issues, would suggest calling Sky.
They may ask you to do a factory reset.
It is not recommended to a factory reset unless Sky have asked you and you are on a call with them.
A factory reset can cause some account issues, that only Sky can resolve.
