Got Sky stream on 8/06/2024, nd it was ok for first week. After that every day after lunch the TV channels start dropping off with a message saying Technical Fault try again later. If you have a channels working you can see view it but moving away if may mean you get the above message if you return.
Doing any kind of reset it eventually gets you stuck on the Checking Status... message . This is when it is trying to retrieve your products /subscription and create an avitate code. If it is after lunch it does not succeed. It evetually give sa software error screen and try again option. This option goes to a software update screen that sticks at 0% for the rest of the day.
My broadband is Hyperoptic 500Mbps. So that is not the cause. One sky helpdesk user said it could be a slow latency. I tested it, to my wifi router it was 1 to 2ms and sky.com, google and bbc.com sites it was 10ms. So not a latency problem to any other site. So this can only be a sky stream ip specific issue.
The only way we can get the service back is to set up the puck from scatch early in the morning 5am-7am. It then has no problem checking the status and returning an activation code. However it has a software bug. Once the activation code is loading on sky website, the puck throws an incorrect pin error and prompts to enter it. This is your account pin, not you purchase/parental pins. It does not recognise any pin and sticks at 0 of 3 attempts. To get around this, power off and on the puck at the wall. When it loads it will let you get the correct pin entry screen and give you all you TV channels back.
We managed to get the channels for two full days before the fault reoccured and the same time of day again. However on the second day at about 2pm we had to a power off and on to get the tv channels working.
I am told this fault was logged on 19/06/2024 for all sky glass/stream customers with hyperoptic. They have not solution so far. The TV channels all started getting the technical fault again at around 2pm. This means something is going wrong on their systems at this part of the day. They need to stop whatever they are doing.
When it works it is perfect sound and picture, when it stops working it is the worst TV service in existance.
Sky please sort this out.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@WillJohn Actually there IS a problem with hyperoptic as discussed in this very long thread https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Sky-Stream/Sky-Stream-Hyperoptic-Broadband-issues/td-p/4674074#
@Suyog Are you also with Hyperoptic?

Thanks for that, I tried to change my DNS settings but it reverted. I have logged a ticket with Hyperoptic.
We have TV service back again at about 19:45pm.
I noticed the pin problem I mentioned can be avoided if you click go back to devices button after entering the activation code.

@Suyog @have you reported the issue to Hyperoptic and requested compensation?
