There is no option to be able to watch and record all the games. You can record the games that are broadcast on the linear Sky Sports TV channels, but games shown via the Sky Sports + bonus streams have to be watched live, ( this means if 2 games are on at the same time via the bonus streams your only option is to flick between them).

Sky Sports+ is an absolute waste of time for RL. Super League is the only reason I have Sky. I like to watch the games of an evening with a beer in hand, which was fine before this "upgrade". I could record any afternoon game I wanted while I was out having a life. Now, if it is on the red button on 412, I have to sit in of an afternoon or miss it.
A massive backwards step in rugby league viewing. I renegotiated my contract in order to get Sky Sports + but now wish I had cancelled the lot. There is no way Sky are getting my money once my contract expires.

Me too, I'm not going to pay to prop football up, the RFL must have known this was in the pipeline, why they didn't give it to channel 4 I'll never know, Sky money halved from what it was. If my contract wasn't up next month I would pay the early termination fee and get out now, we've been totally let down.

Only reason I have Sky Sports is for the rugby league. Now they've taken away the enjoyment of watching all the matches. We can only watch/record those games that are on linear tv. The quality of the broadcast on sky sports + is awful. Also we get no pre-match debate and no post-match interviews with coaches and man of the match. I've phoned sky twice, both times they seemed surprised that the quality was so poor - apparently I'm the only one they've had complain! Didn't seem perturbed about the loss of ability to record all the matches- one woman even told me they've never been able to show more than one match at a time!!!!
Ive also emailed sky twice but no joy at all. I'll be leaving at the end of the season, very unhappy 🙁

I'm leaving at the end of next month, it's like talking to a brick wall with sky customer services, I keep stressing I'm only interested in superleague, they keep repeating, there's more sport than ever available and so it goes on, it's like being a classical music fan, there's more music than ever, you can listen to the Wombles or Meatloaf !

Totally agree with you and I've told Sky the same but not holding out any hope for a return to normal 😠
23 Aug 2024 01:20 PM
We only get two games a week on normal channels, the other four games are via the stupid app !!

I spent over an hour on the phone complaining about the rugby league on sky sports +, the girl i spoke to said she would open a complaint about but then said she would close it down straight away because they couldn't do anything about it. I asked to speak to a manager but i was told that none were working on that day. It is totally a downgrade for all of us rugby league fans.

I am now lloking at taking legal action against Sky. On 12 Aug 2024 I recieved an email from Sky which states;
Hello Ray,
Sky Sports just got even better. We’re bringing you over 50% more sport this year.
Introducing Sky Sports+. It comes with brand new live streams and a dedicated channel, all included in your Sky Sports subscription.
So you can watch every match from the men’s Super League and much more.
As you can see it states every match - that is not true. I cannot watch every match as some are on at the same time? All you then get is about 7 mins of highlights which is shocking. A "match" is 80 mins plus any extra time. Not a highlight of a game. False advertising or what.

That's me gone next month, watched a streamed game yesterday, no HD, kept freezing, no recording, they have plenty linear capacity, there's only 6 games a week for heavens sake !
25 Aug 2024 11:49 AM
They tell lies, we can now watch only 3 superleague matches (by watching one on the app and recording the two on linear tv), the other three games are lost to us. On top of that the quality of the broadcasts on the app is awful. I'll be leaving at the end of the season!
25 Aug 2024 11:56 AM
Mine did the same, also froze for almost five minutes in one game resulting in us missing a try and conversion. On Friday's game the broadcast disappeared completely during the game leaving me with a black screen! I ev4ntuslly had to come out of the app and go back in again, losing 10 minutes of the second half! Phoning Sky was useless. The bloke said they haven't had any other calls about freezing/buffering - liars!!

The problem is legally the phrasing Sky have used in that particular email is likely to be correct as they are stating all games are available to watch live which is factually accurate.
Some of the Sky promotional ads before the launch did seemingly omit the key "live" word which as far as I've seen was corrected since the launch once it was flagged to them.
The issue is caused by the fact that previously Sky were offering you the ability to record games broadcast simultaneously as they were being broadcast via their linear TV channels.
I completely agree that streams should be recordable to watch later and it is feedback I've provided to Sky, as all other major streaming services that broadcast live sport has this functionality. Personally I think Sky have made a major mistake with all the PR that went promoting this new service as being amazing for sports fans, when all fans got such great online streaming and catchup services for the Olympics via Discovery + and then with all the hype get this service from Sky.
It wouldn't surprise me if Sky rushed to launch this service (without giving proper thought as to what is expected with a live sports streaming app nowadays) which they had to do in time for the start of the EFL season in order to contractually broadcast all the games,

Totally agree. Sky need a complete rethink and Super League need to get involved aswell.
