Sky puck turns off when paused

Can anybody help, every time I pause the TV to go and make a cup of coffee or something? I come back after five minutes or soand the TV  turned off because the Sky puck has turned off by itself. This is now getting very annoying having to turn it back on and go back to what I was watching before if I can remember what it was.

Hi @Brianeva9 and welcome to the forum.  Unfortunately this is designed into the puck and is supposed to be an Eco feature and compliant with EU legislation.  I agree it is highly annoying and only allowing about 10 minutes is way to aggressive.  The way I get around it, when I remember, is to use the voice control and rewind by 10 minutes or so and that way I don't need to pause the programme. When I return to the TV it is just a short FF or RW to get to the original position.  Often I forget and in fact was caught out earlier this afternoon.

Re: Sky puck turns off when paused

Do sky read these forums?
of all the years of hell with sky q and the 1000s of complaints on here and sky bot fixing it I'm assuming NOT.

no understand that this STUPID timer to power off was build in by the manufacturer. But SKY NEEDS TO ACT!! They need to distract to the manufacturer to add in settings to allow an end user to choose what suits them.

the uk is NO LONGER IN THE EU!! So stupid EU laws do not apply to us.

this box turns off EVERY BLOODY DAY. Often 6-7-8 times a day.

everytime I get up to check on dinner.,. Make the dogs dinner.  Put the washing out.  Make a coffee.  Make a snack. Answer the door to a courier.  ANYTHING IN NORMAL LIFE. It powers off!!!!!  I have absolutely no say and no control over it.

not only that.  If you go into settings it gives you power setting!!! And I've disabled EVERYTHING!!! To stop this stupid thing turning off. And it's driving me insain.

I might as well not press pause. I might as well throw the stupid box out the window just to go a **bleep**!!!

it's so bad. I've started looking into alternative tv providers. I cannot and will not keep putting up with this.
last Saturday I think I clocked up 32 power offs in 1 day!!
10 minutes is not long enough!
when men get to a certain age... 10 minutes is NOT enough time to use the toilet!!!!!

IVE ACTIVELY started using apps on my smart tv instead of the sky stream. So why am I paying for it???
completely and utterly POINTLESS.

SKY YOU BETTER TAKE NOTE YOU WILL LOOSE CUSTOMERS OVER THIS!!!!

Re: Sky puck turns off when paused

Yes, that is correct. 45 minutes pausing but like you say after 10 minutes, the puck turns off. I suppose in a way itt actually false advertising but it is something they need to sort out because if it still doing this at the end of my contract, I will be going to Freeview.
