Sky Stream with shared broadband coneection

Hi. I've asked sort of similar question in the past. My mum lives next door and shares our broadband connection via an ethernet cable. We have Sky Q and well aware that another Sky Q box won't work on same IP. So she's now looking at Sky Stream Puck instead of her old Sky HD box which she is having issues with.

So my question - baring in mind we have Sky Q box, would a Sky Stream Puck work ok on the shared internet connection??

I'm a bit concerned as have read you can't have a Sky Q box and Sky Stream on same account? Mum has her own Sky account. Would the Puck play nice on same external IP address as a Sky Q box even though they are seperate sky accounts

Thanks..

@richy101  1st point the sharing of your broaband connection wull be more than a clear breach of your broadband providers terms & conditions be that Sky or any other provider), they need to get their broadbamd service and add the puck to that.

It would not be recommended to share your broadband connection for another Sky account to use when you have an existing Sky account.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Re: Sky Stream with shared broadband coneection

Hi thanks for your reply. It is a rural property (farm) with only one line in. The BB provider is aware of the situation and has been fine with it for years.

The existing setup works fine as far as a shared connection is concerned. We have Sky Q and mum has Sky HD. I'm aware that if she tried to have her box upgraded to Sky Q then it would not work over the same IP. Got to say this is news to Sky sales team and to some of the Sky engineers even though the situation is expained to them. Shared broadband connection is not uncommon on farms and rural properties.
