I have for a while now been considering changing from SkyQ to Stream. One thing that has held me back is my interest in watching live sport, and my understanding that if I couldn't watch it until say an hour of so after it started is that possible now by being able to watch from the start? Thanks.

@Stephen+Mourton Yes, nearly all programmes has a watch from the start option.

Realistically, recording on Q and then playing back from locally stored data is always likely to be more reliable (apart from the potential spoilers on the Home page, of course ; )

@TimmyBGood I think the poster meant if he started to watch football say half an hour into the game could he watch it from the start, unless I've read it wrong, and the answer is yes they can.

@Floydianslip @Yes that is exactly my point. For a variety of reasons I like most I imagine cannot always sit down to watch a 'live' sports event when it first starts, so it may be just half an hour later, an hour later or longer.
Not that long ago there were posts on this forum that said you could only watch from the start within the first ten minutes and after that it could be as long as the next day before the full match became available.

The 'watch from the start' prompt does usually appear on most channels whenever they are selected. It usually functions fine (it did for me) but problems can occur if you pause the restarted stream for whatever reason (loo break/making a cup of tea etc) and return, only to find that the eco settings have kicked in and the stream has lost the point at which you paused it and reverted to the live stream.
It's inconsistent and unreliable in that respect, particularly when compared to pausing a recording of a live broadcast being saved to a hard drive. It's things like this which have led me to cancel Stream.

@UnrealityTV I've never found it unreliable.

I guess you've never paused a 'watch from the start' stream for any length of time then, or are just lucky.
Happened to me several times.
It worked perfectly every time I didn't interfere with the stream - just started it and left it. Any form of pausing for longer than five minutes, rewinding or fast forwarding was always frought with danger and risked the thing crashing out.
