Yes. FireTV has a live TV function which will open the relevant free-to-air app for watching live channel streams. You can also install whatever apps you wish such as HBO Max, Disney+, Apple TV, etc and use them from the Firestick.
If you want Sky programming then you'd need to subscribe to NOW TV which is a separate service from Sky Stream, but allows you to watch Sky channels and content live and on demand.
