No I've had mine in for over a year
first try repairing the remote
The remote can be reset and paired again following these steps;
- Press and hold 7 and 9 together on your Sky remote for three seconds.
- Press and hold 4 and 6 together for three seconds.
- Press and hold 1 and 3 together for three seconds and follow the on-screen instructions.
if that doesn't work you can request to Replace remote under warranty on link below

Re: Sky Stream puck gets through remote control batteries quickly
@singsongfun Going back to when I first moved to a Glass TV about 3 years ago my initial remote chewed batteries which only lasted about 4 to 6 weeks. Some other subscribers were reporting the batteries lasted only a few days. I called Sky and explained the problem and they sent me a replacement remote and I have not had any battery issues since (I no longer have a Glass TV but have a stream puck instead)
If my post has solved your issue please mark as an "Answer" as it helps others identify the solution
