Thanks for the info. Bloody pricey for something that should just work though!
What's it's range like? The other issue we have is that our house is old with internal brick walls and it doesn't get through to one end of the house!

@Harri7883 You might be better off with a mesh network like Eero. They do come at a cost, but they're very effective.
In essence you have your main router and then add other Eero devices around your home and it forms a wider mesh for better connectivity.

I can also say I've replaced my router for a
TP-Link Next-Gen Wi-Fi 6 AX1500 and all is working perfectly fine now

After reading responses on here I've just been to currys and bought the tp-link Archer AXE75 at a cost of £120. You have to take away the router which 4th Utility supply and plug this new router straight in to the modem which is the engineer installed. Download the 'tether app' and put PPPoE connection username and password into the app. You can find these details if you log in to your 4th utilities account. Just click your order number in your account setting to find this. So annoyed I've had to buy a replacement router to get it to work 🤬🤬🤬🤬

Sky employees have no idea about this issue, I spent 3 weeks trying to resolve this with new puk being sent to resolve the issue arranged bv the TECHNICAL department. I have been told today it is not the responsibility of Sky yo be aware of it or inform customers buying stream that it is not compatible with all ISP's. (minimum speed requirements only are listed as limitiations to accessing the service.
I was directed to 4th Utility as its their issue. Spoke to them and they haven't emailed customers to acknowlege the issue yet they are fully aware of it and are ' working with sky to resolve it but can not confirm when this will be resolved,
They increased the monthly bill for an imcompetent service and Sky bury their heads. shocking all round.y @KevNewMedia seems to be the only person who works for sky to have known about or acknowleged the issue. 5 hours approx of calls today with Sky.
Tired of this service level from all concerned. I suggest all affected get on trust pilot and other review sites to publicise the 4th Utiltiy Sky debacle too.

Hi all,
Sadly I am in the same situation as everyone else having been switched yesterday having ordered the ISP service only last Friday the 7th. I too spoke to Sky and 4th Utilty and spent 1 hr 30 mins trying get the issue resolved through Sky only to get complete loss of service until I connected via my mobile hot spot, with 4th utilities router switched off. Back up and running but still without Sky live channels. If I buy a new router to resolve this issue as others have done. Do we have any redress with 4th Utility to compensate for the cost of the router?
Or maybe we should all take them to the small claims court or go to the BBC and contact Ripoff Britain.

I'm cancelled during the cooling off period and went with Vodafone. They're doing 910mbps for £29 per month at the minute! Bargain!

Exactly what I was wondering as out of pocket for £120 but everything working perfectly now have the new router.

Canceled 4th utility yesterday been on Vodafone 150 with four people in house and I can honestly say everything works fine got four consoles, phones tablets sky glass sky puck fish tank camera 2 Alexa's and everything runs great 4th utility wavered the cancellation fee and I got a refund of £46 so happy right now after 4 weeks of issues.

Also £110 out of pocket with my new router but as has been posted before, all working perfectly now so just proves how crap 4th Urilities router is. Also wanted to be post 100 on this **bleep** show of a service we have all endured!

Just bit the bullet and cancelled 4th Utility - thought it was a 14 day cooling off period but apparently if you cancel within the first 30 days there's no cancellation fee. I was on day 29 so that was lucky!
Going with Vodafone as, as an existing customer I can get similar speeds for a similar price.
Only drawback is waiting until 2nd April to be activated but everything works fine off my phone hotspot for now and I have unlimited data. Not paying for a router when I can get the same speeds on a different contract witha router supplied and still have the router covered in case it breaks etc.
Woman at 4th Utility was actually really nice and helpful. Shame to have to leave but can't be paying for two services when one stops the other working!

An update.
I've given in and bought a new router, a TP-Link Archer AXE75 and its fixed the issue (£109 from Amazon).
The WI-FI coverage is so much better than the junk 4th Utility provided, it also is a lot more easy to manage your connections with the 'Teather' app on your phone.
I tried a wi-fi extender first and that didn't work.
Still not received any feedback from 4th Utility from my complaint.
I'm stuck with them for another 20 months, lets hiope i don't have to deal with them again.
Moderator note: excess spacing removed from the post

Did exactly the same as you, purchased a £20 extender as suggested on a previous post and it did nothing. Now using the same TP Link router from Amazon and all is perfect again. Should get some kind of refund from 4th Urility for this mess but betting they keep quiet.

I have today contacted Vodaphone, and decided to go with them, still in my cooling off period with 4th Utility, as only installed last Friday. Tried calling them this evening spent an hour on hold. So sent a written online complaint and stated I wanted to give notice of cancellation and about the hour on hold. Totally, unacceptable from 4th Utility. Not what I expected from a so called professional company.

I started a contract with with in October 24, ( 4th utility)
I don't they are enforcing contracts as sky said o could leave and go to them and there were no penalty charges from 4th utility well beyond 14 or 30 days into contract!
