Hello everybody. I want to get rid of my Virgin Media box and Sky looks very attractive with the Stream option. Sky Q was the service I originally looked for but was put off by the idea that it is still a satelite service.... I thoght it was cable. Anyway Stream looks really good with free first puck and all. My question is, I'd like to try before I buy so if i get Stream on a rolling contract, will it be posible to upgrade to the 18 month contract with little hasle or do I have to acncel, return equipment and start again?
thanks

You get a 31 day cooling off period, that also applies to the 18 month contract.

Definitely stay on monthly. I came from VM Stream which was £7.20 a month for Sky channels albeit not as many channels as Sky. After an initial faulty Box, theirs just worked.
Sky stream had a major software issue which they had to fix during the first week of joining and still not fixed properly. Also other customers complaining about wait for the channel to load messages and sound drops and random breakup that is not related to wifi.
Yes you can enter a contract after being monthly but you would have to ring in.

Yes, I'd recommend trying it out on the 31 day rolling contract and see how you get on with it before committing to a lengthy 18 months.
I'm sure Sky would be only too happy to switch you onto the slightly cheaper 18 month deal if you want to, but myself (and others on here) were enticed to stay on 31 day contracts with half price subscriptions when trying to cancel completely, so there do seem to be options.

Thanks, Tim
I got in touch wth a sky person and I was informed of this. The 18-month contract is substantially cheaper than the rolling counterpart!

They shouldn't even be offering 18 month contracts with stream considering the state of it.

crazy that you have had so many issues, it's been amazing for us, not had any real issues at all, few times playlists go wrong but recently this has been all good.
used every evening and been amazing watching sky, nextflix, disney and so far would give it a 8.5 out of 10. It just needs some fixes to delete contiune watching and other tweaks

@Rich007jp Sadly everyone has different expectations about a product, mine are quite high
