Sky Steam slows down your internet speed
I only just realised Sky Steam slows down your Internet speed because it constantly downloading all the time so if you go to download something it downloads slower so why it sometimes takes 10 to 12 minutes to download a 4GB file.
To stop it you have to switch Sky Steam off, no good pause the program because its buffering it still, so why my speed goes up and down when downloading a file.
so it like its downloading 2 files at once and its bandwith is split between them so the download speed is slower.
I am not a Sky Engineer but at one time wanted to be one or a BT Engineer... 🙂
I like working things out like its a puzzle... 🙂
I was a PC Engineer and fix peoples PCs by going to there house, Windows XP was known to slow down PCs over time and clog up the PCs RAM and its start-up and had to reinstall it for the customer.

Incorrect, Glass/Stream isn't "downloading constantly" If it's not in use it does not download, if it's in use it streams.
If you have a poor broadband speed then yes Sky stream will take most of it, if your broadband speed is for example 56mbps, stream will easily take half of that, if you have a 1gig connection you won't see any issues.

I can't say I've experienced this issue, so must be your setup

Re: Sky Steam slows down your internet speed
Stream does not slow down your internet speed.
It just uses a chunk of bandwidth which means there is less to go round for all your other devices.

Re: Sky Steam slows down your internet speed
I think that if you have Sky Steam you should be on the fastest Internet possible so you do not get any black screens or frezes(Blue Screen) or video jumps(skips) from it, so it auto ups your speed higher than your on if you Internet speed is low to cope.

65Mpbs over wifi works perfectly well for me, on both Glass and Puck simultaneously. It all depends on the quality of the connection.

Re: Sky Steam slows down your internet speed
Yep, mine is 64mb/s at the moment, I get 54mb/s so it over it today.. 🙂 but when it starts to lower then you get the blue screen or skips or the pictures looks like its lowered like to SD then goes back to HD.
Maybe the Answer...
I have lowered my res to 720p so from 1080p and seems to be working better, I have a Hitachi 55hk6100u 55 Inch Led Tv screen(2019).
If you have picture problems with skipping and freezing the blue screen then change resolution on Sky Stream(Settings) so then the network can handle the stream better so from 1080p or i to 720p... 🙂 720p is the same res used on Mini Consoles... 🙂
