Re: Sky Sports UHD Picture Stuttering and Poor Volume

It's awful once again I agree@jajamj . When will Sky fix this ongoing issue that has been going on for far too long with the latency channel. Hopefully soon!!

@jajamj I'm watching on Live Sync UHD and it's been rock solid for me on a 500mbps connection.

Lucky @Nigelb1972 it's a known issue and Sky are aware of it.  Hopefully Sky will fix it soon

I watched the Liverpool match last night and did for testing play it out with the Live sync.

Had no issues at all.

I do not normally use live sync, in fact have not used that feature for a good while.

I just choose the normal hd or choose the UHD/HDR when available on the main Sky Soorts broadcast channel.

Mind, last nights match was an upscale to UHD/HDR from hd on the main event uhd channel and live sync channel option,  as there was no uhd/hdr main broadcast.

It's great it works for you @lettice but there are still issues for other customers and it's important that Sky see this and they can do the necessary updates. Sky are aware that certain customers are been affected, but not all

Re: Sky Sports UHD Picture Stuttering and Poor Volume

I think it's always going to be the case that Sky Stream will work well for some, and not for others.

There are simply too many variables in the network performance of individual ISPs which Sky have no control over. Even when using Sky broadband there can be no guarantee that it will function better than on any other ISP, simply because Sky do not own or maintain the broadband infrastructure.

If you're lucky enough to have a good, fast and stable broadband connection and are connected to a fast server then you may well have the flawless experience that some users seem to have. If you don't, then the quality of service you receive may fluctuate.

It's largely for this reason that Sky will let customers leave long term contracts early, penalty free, because there's simply nothing they can do to improve an individual customer's network connection.

@BenJoBanjo I also have a very fast broadband 500 speed but still have the black screen (picture last night) issues on the low latency channel, like you. I do love Sky Stream and happy to be patient, but just hoping that Sky can sort out the outstanding issues. I am also plugged in through the Ethernet

What I'm saying is that I don't know if they can 'sort out the outstanding issues' because there are too many network variables outwith their control. If everyone's broadband was perfect and had a direct link to Sky's servers, free from DNS routing, IP address sharing, network throttling, etc then Sky Stream would be amazing. It would work perfectly, as advertised. But the fact of the matter is that it only works well for some and not for others. This is why I always advise people to try it and see if it does work for them.

I can also confirm Sport UHD has been erractic for me recently, I have a wired netword (not wifi), channel 922 has stutter, audio drops etc, it used be fine so not sure what changed. Hopefully it get's sorted soon.

Re: Sky Sports UHD Picture Stuttering and Poor Volume

Rule of thumb. If you don't particularly need the low latency UHD channel, why use it. There's nothing to be gained, just use the normal UHD channel instead.

Re: Sky Sports UHD Picture Stuttering and Poor Volume

I think you are right. Is just it's ahead of the other channel but I guess you are right and go for that option until Sky sort the issues out @Hunter2660

Re: Sky Sports UHD Picture Stuttering and Poor Volume

Watching Liverpool v Arsenal and the quality on UHD is unwatchable.  Stutters awfully. Just watched the F1 with some issues as well.

calling Sky on this tomorrow. Why should we pay.

Re: Sky Sports UHD Picture Stuttering and Poor Volume

@jajamj Have you checked your internet speed to the puck via the Netflix app?

I watched the F1 in UHD without issue and I'm now watching Liverpool Vs Arsenal in UHD on Live Sync without issue...
