Why can't I upgrade from Sky Q to Sky Stream

That's a change rather than upgrade😉
Phone Sky to make the change .... they probably want to make sure customers know they have to return all their current equipment as part of the change🤔

Isn't it necessary to be in contract to have Sky Q🤔

As opposed to rolling contract

Find out more@Nhs+Porter You can't make the change online as the streaming platform requires a different account/contract and it is not possible to have both a stream/glass and Sky Q account active at the same time. You will need to call Sky if you want to change to Stream.
If Sky is your mobile provider you can phone them by dialling 150.
If it is not your provider follow this link https://www.sky.com/help/home and scroll down to need more help at the bottom of the page, click on this and you will see an 0333 phone number to use to call Sky. Unfortunately I cannot include the actual phone number as the forum filters will block it.
Make sure you do your homework first and please do not think of Stream as an upgrade. It is simply a way of getting Sky when you can't, or don't want, a satellite dish. Also be aware you need fast AND stable broadband or you will not have a good viewing experience.
Personally I moved property and no longer had access to a satellite dish so I purchased a Glass TV which I had for 18 months before selling it and moving to the Stream puck. I do not regret this decision at all. I have now moved again and now have access to a satellite dish but am more than happy with the convenience of the streaming platform. I need to reboot the puck from time to time but I also had to do this with the Sky Q box.

So anyone with a "rolling contract" contract does not need to phone Sky to change?
