Sky Q remote for Sky Stream

Hi,

I just wanted to check if anybody has tried using Sky Q remote with Sky Stream as I have just got Sky Stream but I hate it that there are no separate channel change buttons and there is no way to go directly to live tv from remote as was the case on Sky Q or Virgin Stream. Sky Q does have these buttons and want to check if that remote works with Sky Stream and does Live TV button works?

@AamirArrar  The "SKY" button at the top of the Q remote doesn't do anything.  Also, as the Q remote  only works in the IR mode it also won't control the volume on my Samsung TV which needs to be a bluetooth signal.

I'm sure I read somewhere that after a recent update you can no longer use q remotes on stream/glass

Hi @AamirArrar  welcome to the forum. I use a Sky Q remote as a secondary remote.  I used to be able to set it up as bluetooth but since the last update QS030 I have found it only works in IR mode.  This doesn't bother me as it is not my main remote.

The Glass / Stream remote is pretty poor quality compared to the Q remote.

Re: Sky Q remote for Sky Stream

Thank you for the response. Does live tv button and channel change buttons of this remote work with Sky Stream?

Re: Sky Q remote for Sky Stream

Hi

We just got Stream and I was hoping I'd be able to use one of our old Q remotes in IR mode as a secondary remote. However, I can't seem to pair it at all and currently only the home button works. Is it possible to set up with the current software version?

Thanks

Hi @ChrisN82  Yes it should pair in IR mode whilst using the latest software (QS030.528.00P) as my old Q remote is in daily use with my Stream puck as a secondary remote.  I have found that it doesn't work in bluetooth mode though.

The pairing process is the same as pairing a standard Stream or Glass remote.

Re: Sky Q remote for Sky Stream

Thanks @Fothergill1 I've tried pairing both my Q remotes but nothing happens (I've un-paired and re-paired the Stream remote fine so I think I'm following the right process). I wonder if your remote works because you paired it before the software update.
