Sky Puck Lagging

My puck lags really badly, a lot. It sometimes does it on any type of show on any channel but it is largely (90+%) when trying to watch live TV, such as sports. 

Please don't reply about Wi-Fi checks etc. I have 1Gb up and down broadband, this gives a speed check of over 750Mbps over Wi-Fi on my puck. It works for a decent amount of time when I restart the puck, but waiting for a restart during a live game is really [Removed] annoying. 

I can watch the SkyGo app with no problem from my phone, iPad and MacBook in the same room over the same Wi-Fi connection. 

All of this tells me it is a hardware issue. It is a few years old, I previously didn't use it often and not for live sports but I've moved the Sky Glass to a bedroom (because the picture is poor!) and am now using the puck in my front room. 

Has anyone swapped an older puck for a newer one and seen improvement?
