Sky Puck Connection in 1 Room

I have recently moved to sky (within the last 3 weeks). One of the Sky Pucks works absolutely fine, this is the one downstairs nearest the router.

But upstairs in the bedroom the sky puck is constantly unable to perform when watching live television, it constantly freezes and blacks out. I have done all the connection tests and it states

"We've checked the strength of the connection to your Sky Glass or Sky

Stream puck. If it's poor, you might have problems watching."

But all the other tests on the WiFi comes up fine. Equally, watching apps on the puck in the bedroom is fine, but live television is unwatchable.

What can I do to rectify this? Will I need to contact Sky for a WiFi booster? I have tried swapping the pucks and it makes no difference.

@Norm8A If it's not the Pucks, and you are trying to do the streaming over a wireless wifi connection, then that is the place to look at, you need a good, consistant streamed wireless wifi signal and the further you get away then the lower the speed and signal gets...

Think on the puck there is a way to see the streaming and buffering it may be via the netflix app etc, so do check that out!

Sounds like your wifi is not performing well for this puck.

Can you do a network speed test on the Puck.
Launch Netflix on your pucks (you do not need to be logged into it, if you do not use netflix) and scroll down the left menu to Get help.
Choose Check Network.
Would suggest running the test several times, say over an hourly period.
What is your speed?

Re: Sky Puck Connection in 1 Room

Hi, I have done this over a sustained period and the connection speed is showing as 97.28Mbps.

@Norm8A Know nothing about the pucks etc but going to add and highlight the section incase it is that as a specific! One off the experienced superuser's may be able to throw some light on it for you!

Try swapping the pucks over. This will give you an idea whether it's the puck or the wi-fi that's the problem.

Re: Sky Puck Connection in 1 Room

@Hunter2660 OP has already done the puck swap as in the opening text in the posting!

But he doesn't state whether it's actually the puck at fault or the location.

@Hunter2660 Will let the OP supply the answer to that then!
