Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreHi @meap5 I have been using the Add skipping button for about a week and find it brilliant. So far it hasn't missed a beat.
As the other posts mention it may be programme/channel specific but if you have not already done so I would do a restart of your puck by going to settings > System management > Resets & Updates > restart device. The process takes about 3 minutes and the screen will go blank for a while so don't worry when this happens. I always do this after an update.

Hi everyone, thank you for the replies. It has happened on Sky Atlantic content - Day of the Jackal finale. We haven't tried it on any other content yet. I will do the restart and see if that solves it, thank you for the advice.

All this release updates that we are aware of are listed in post 3 in this thread.

Thank you but Sky should have this information freely available on their website not rely on word of mouth from their users.

Sweet - that would be a great addition
I agree that it would be nice to know what changed in an update - otherwise you have to stuble over it.
Looking forward to it

Do you have to have the "Ad Skipping" extra for this?
13 Dec 2024 08:39 PM
@nmbailey I'd imagine so as the subscription replaces lost advertising revenue.

Yes - if you don't pay for "ad skipping" then you can't skip the adverts. This is just an extension of the ad skipping feature to actually provide a capability to skip past the ads on Sky content, rather than having to fast forward through them as had to be done before.

In theory if its only happened the once, it is possible the metadata for that episode is slightly incorrect and thats why the ad skipping has skipped a bit more than it should have.

I haven't had the update yet but had no ads in any episode of Jackal

Off topic but sadly I would have preferred to watch the ads 🤣 watched Ep10 last night and it was, well....

That's strange @nmbailey as I get adds during Day of the Jackal, in fact I am watching episode 9 as I am typing this post and have literally just had to use the skip ads button to move past the ads.

Unfortunately not ... the update is released in set batches over several weeks
