Received price increase email today. Can I cancel Stream free of charge when I still have 17 moonths
Hi,
I received a price increase email from Sky today. Can I cancel Stream free of charge when I still have 17 mnths left on the contract? I have been with Sky 30+ years (since the BSkyB battle) but the price increase has now got to a tipping-point for me (will go to £111/month for Stream + £35/month for Sky broadband). I think the Ofcom ruling means I have 31 days to cancel the Sky broadband which is increasing to £35 /month compared to £31/month with BT for the same speeds. I have an Openreach broadband box into the house, so it should be a simple swap-over on the router. (once the Accounts have been decommissioned /activated). I am not sure where I stand on the Stream tv subscription though with regards to cancellation whilst in contract???

I believe the 31 day cancellation from notification of the price rise doesn't currently apply for TV subscriptions.

Hi @Sky+Go+lfer
As @MarkGoldsmith indicates the t&C's of the contract allow Sky to I crease the subscription cost while you are in contact.

I believe there is a new instruction from the regulator (Ofcom) that you now have 31 days from notification of a price increase to cancel Broadband contract.

Hi @Sky+Go+lfer
Yes but this is a question around sky stream.

Correct that's for mobile and broadband contracts where the T&Cs don't stipulate a pound and pence price increase at the time of starting the contract.
