Do they support both the Freeview and Freesat EPGs, and permit recording from either?
Depends on the model. I have Freeview Play and Freesat on mine, both of which can be recorded direct to USB flash drive. You can even pause live TV if you like.
They offer different OS options too. The one I have has the MyHomeScreen system which is IMHO the best and most basic option without the clutter of advertising. It has all the standard UK apps as well as Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, AppleTV+ and others. Some of their other models have GoogleTV or FireTV OS so there are endless options for customisation.

After some concerns about screen burn (raised on another forum) I decided to go for a Phillips Mini LED and I am delighted with the results. Sparklingly clear pictures on everything, like night and day compared to my old Toshiba LED. Watching The Newsroom was like watching a different show. Such a beautifully clear picture with lovely dark blacks. So far, I am very happy to have gone down this road.
Sky Stream since launch with Philips 55" Mini LED. Sky Glass Gen 2 55" now added.
