Puck keeps losing connection to router

The help centre says I need to post a new message to get help with this problem so here goes!

in short even though the internet into the house is good my puck keeps disconnecting from the router (both sky products). Sometimes it will be 5-6 times in one 30 minute episode of a programme. Infuriating having to get up press the WPS button etc etc, just to do it all again 3 mins later. The puck has a good view of the router, router is clear of clutter etc etc. please help!

@SimonH4   Thanks for the information.  Is the puck also clear of clutter, in other words can you, if you haven't already, arrange things to give a good six inches clear all around the puck so it is stood alone?

It sits below the tv balanced on the top of the soundbar so is in line of sight of the router. Thanks for replying.

@SimonH4   Thanks for the additional information.  Sitting on top of the soundbar is not ideal, If you haven't already just experiment and  try and move the puck so it is completely on its own and see if that improves things.

Re: Puck keeps losing connection to router

I did have it sitting behind the tv on top of a speaker thing and the issue still occurred. Seems it is going to have to hover in mid air at this rate. I would question the tech if it can't cope being near other electronic devices when it is a tv streaming box. My old BT box never had this issue!

@SimonH4  I do sympathies as I know the puck is very temperamental.  You say it was previously on a speaker thing, but again that possibly was the same as on a soundbar.  At this stage I am only asking for you to at least temporarily just put the puck on a shelf or wooden furniture where it is not touching anything else and nothing around it for at least 6 inches.  If that doesn't sort it then at least you will know, and decide if you have a faulty puck.

Re: Puck keeps losing connection to router

Ok cool, thanks. I'll try a wooden shelf away from any other electrical item and see what happens. If that does work I would say the puck has a flaw as in this modern age there will always be some other electronic devices nearby (dvd, games console, speakers for example).

I'll report back.

thanks again.
