Yes, and not sure if such solution will be built into Stream at some point. I'm curious, we'll see. 🙂

They will have to build something.
Either build it like satellite and keep the billing seperatly
or go down the virgin media route, all channels are billed through them. which I think this route would have a faster turn around than the sat route.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@ThePope27 the issue is probably commercial as the Comcast streaming platform Stream runs on is designed to allow pretty simple integration with other platforms and apps. Nothing much runs on the pucks themselves. It is a very different from the way for example the satellite boxes work.
Unless your sources are high up in the organisation treat anything told to you with a large pinch of salt. Thst negotiations are happening is highly likely but the devil will be in the commercial detail which only a few senior people know in either company and will be strictly confidential.

@Chrisee Comcast actually run on sky software entertainment OS was developed in house by sky and now used across Comcast. The hardware (sky stream puck) was developed by Comcast and to all tense and purpose is the X1 Xfinity streaming box. Regards

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Jason+Golding yes I am aware of that thank you. The OS was developed by Sky but the back end platform is a Comcast development. The hardware seems to be a bit of both.
These days the group work very closely together. The main guy heading up the programme is Fraser Sterling who is a Scot who was with Sky before moving to the US. He came back as senior product officer at Sky after the company was bought and is now Global Chief Product Officer for Comcast..

It's third party billing and no viewing card, the perfect example is TNT Sports, you cannot take out a new subscription for TNT through BT if you have stream despite all the channels being on the stream platform present and correct, all the channels that are missing handle their own billing.
