Unfortunately this has come back each time I turn on the puck for the first time each day. Can someone possibly explain why as it seemed to have gone away and frustratingly it's back. I know if you press the home button it will go to the home page

Given that we are fellow customers not sure you will get a definitive answer however, I think it happens if the puck wakes but hasn't connected to the WiFi / obtained an IP address. if you haven't already try turning Network Standby ON in the settings and see if it helps.

Thank you. I can confirm this was on already!

I'm a month late, but would like to add my +1 to this issue. I recently joined Sky and get the same message daily. The first use of the day after not being used all night results in a "Please wait..." message and pressing the home button on the remote "fixes" it. My puck is connected via ethernet so WiFi cannot be to blame here.
I believe Network Standby is already on for me also.

Worth checking that overnight power saving mode is also set to OFF.
