Please give us programme reminders

Surely it's a relatively simple software update? We just want it to remind us when our selected programmes are about to start. Please Sky, this is a feature you always had, why would you remove simple and convenient features like this?

Sky have never had Reminders since Sky Q launched, it isn't going to be added anytime soon despite numerous people posting about it over the decade.

Personally I don't see the need for reminders on the streaming platform. The majority of watched content will likely be on-demand and as you can see"watch from start" for anything being broadcast on a TV channel the requirement for a reminder, for me, just isn't there.

Re: Please give us programme reminders

I'm retired, and I watch mostly live TV. I want reminders when my sports events are about to begin. Stream is just how the service is provided to me as far as I'm concerned, not how/when I choose to watch TV.  I've just moved back to Sky from Virgin. Their television features and service are great, but their customer service and prices are ridiculous. It would just be nice if the little features were improved a bit.

As advised, it's not going to happen.

Re: Please give us programme reminders

Since our household moved to a fully streamed TV service a few years ago we've gotten used to not bothering about TV schedules at all. We create our own viewing schedules - watching what we want, when we want, not when a channel decides.

Yes, there's the odd 'event TV' show which we may want to watch live and there's still the ability to do that, but it's better to set a reminder on a mobile phone, something you're more likely to have on you all the time, in case you don't actually have the TV on when the programme is due to begin.

Surely it's easier to add anything you want to watch to your playlist, that way if you miss it, it's there for you to watch at your convenience.

So is the Test match between England and India, but I've added to my playlist so I can dip into it at my convenience any time I like, either catch up or chase play.

Also most households will have other devices that are capable of providing reminders like a smart phone or smart speaker, so you can just set the reminder on another device to remind you a programme or event is starting.

As noted above, the Q platform launched in early 2016 and has spent nearly a decade without Reminders...

@GregBrooks1950 Unfortunately this isn't an argument that you will win. But, for the record, I'm with you. I still use Reminders all the time on my Sky+HD Box.
